This was a tough watch. Should I confess that at a certain point I gave up on the team and watched Masterchef instead? I am a terrible team captain I suppose. Anthony's Sicilian problems continued, this time on the Black side. His g6 antidote to the c3 Sicilian never worked out as his opponent caught his king in the centre. Nice game. John blundered a piece. Nicole's opponent played beautifully, maintaining a painful Maroczy bind squeeze deep into the ending. Emily succumbed to tactics in the early middle game. For once Daniel couldn't find decent counterplay and he slowly went down. Anya's opponent whipped up a vicious attack out of nowhere without a lot of material on the board, impressive.
