Recommended by Alekhine  8...cxd4 9.cxd4 f6 10.b3 O-O Castling into trouble. All White's pieces are focussed on the King's wing and the end is sudden  11.Ng5 fxg5 12.Bxh7+ Kh8 ( if 12...Kxh7 13.hxg5+ Kg8 14.Rh8+ Kxh8 15.Qh5+ Kg8 16.g6 and mates ) 13.Qh5 1-0

This is premature and needs more preparation. Now Black is forced into an immediate attack to save his threatened Knight.  9.cxd5 Qxd5 10.Bc4 Qa5+ 11.b4 Nxb4 12.Qxe4 Nc2+ 13.Ke2 Nxa1 14.Nf3 Be6 This does not turn out well, possibly (14...f5 at once, by forcing White's Queen either to play  15.Qxe5+ leading to an exchange of Queens, or to retreat might have given Black better chances. ) 15.Nxe5! ( 2019 Computer note: This was actually a mistake 15.d5! is the only good move in this position ) 15...O-O (15...Bxc4+?? 16.Nxc4+ and the Black Queen would be lost ) ( 2019 Computer note: 15...O-O-O! obliges White to bail out   16.Bxe6+ fxe6 17.Qb1 Qa6+ 18.Ke1 Qa5+ 19.Ke2 draw ) 16.d5 Bc8 Forced. White now has an excellent game and his pieces are well placed for attack.  17.Bb2 b5 18.Bd3 f5 19.Qb4 Qxb4 The exchange of Queens does not allow the Black Knight to escape.  20.axb4 Nb3 21.Bc2 Nd2 22.Kxd2 Rd8 23.Ke2 g6 24.Bb3 Kf8 25.Rc1 Bb7 26.Rxc7 Bxd5 27.Bxd5 Black has put up a great fight after a rather inauspicious beginning. 1-0
