Playing Internationally / Representing NZL

There are a number of opportunities for our players to play abroad:

• Asian Chess Federation (ACF) Tournaments (such as the Asian Individual Chess Championships)
• FIDE Events (such as World Senior Chess Championships)
• Tournaments in Australia
• Tournaments in other Countries

For the FIDE and ACF events there are often official places available which offer free accommodation for players. Each tournament has it’s own set of regulations which cover this and much more.

Most of these events require that you register through the NZCF – in which case we will pay upfront (for any fees and accommodation costs – you pay for flights) and invoice you once we have an NZD amount.

We have tried to list as many of these events on our own NZCF events calendar, but you will also find them on the FIDE calendar:

From time to time we will ask for expressions of interest in playing in a particular event, but if you are interested in anything coming up later in the year, let the NZCF Admin officer, Richie Christie know – admin@newzealandchess.co.nz
