| Covid-19 Impact Update 9th August 2020 As announced on 10th June the NZCF Regional Interschools program was restarted after being suspended on 21st March. In some regions however normal qualification for the national finals has not been possible. Schools in such regions can apply to play in the national finals, according to rules described in this document. Updated 27th August and again on 5th September: The finals are scheduled to take place on 26th and 27th September as originally scheduled, but an (updated) contingency plan as outlined here is necessary due to the recent temporary elevation of Covid alert levels. |
| NZCF Interschools The New Zealand Interschools Championship is organised by the New Zealand Chess Federation. Please note that only official NZCF Interschools Qualifying events (as listed below) will generate qualifiers for the 2020 National Finals to be held in Mt Maunganui on the weekend of September 26th and 27th. The qualifying stages are split into 21 geographic regions. In each region the top Primary, Intermediate and Secondary school qualify to play in the National Finals.
