This year will be the 6th edition of this event which Paul Spiller began back in 2019.
FM’s Felix Xie and Alexei Kulashko will be playing a 4 game match of FischerRandom chess (ches960, or freestyle chess!)Times to be confirmed (had to enter something as a placeholder!). Time control is 5 minutes + 3 seconds per move.
Sponsored by the Howick Village association [HVA] and the Middle Game Chess Foundation [MGCF]
$400 prize fund with $250 to the winner, $150 to runner up or $200 each if a tied match. Play commences approx. 10.30 am on July 13th at Poppies Bookstore, Picton Street, Howick.
