Rating:
The tournament will be NZCF-rated and FIDE-rated. For the purposes of pairings and grade prizes, NZCF standard ratings will be used. Where players do not have a published NZCF or FIDE standard rating, the Chief Arbiter may assign a rating at their discretion.
Prizes:
UPDATE : Total prize fund of $1,500 is guaranteed.
- Championship – 1st $700, 2nd $500, 3rd $300
- Book Prizes may be awarded, eg for a best game or to the youngest player
Note: Players may only win one cash prize – prizes will be shared between eligible players on the same score. The prize fund will be increased if entries allow.

Note: Players who have not checked in by 8:30 am may not be paired for round one. Players should check in by arriving at the venue before 8:30 am where possible or by sending a text message to the organizer by 8:30 am (mobile number above). Entries close at 8:15 am or when the venue capacity has been reached.
Half-point Byes:
- Players may take a half-point bye in any of the first four rounds (max 1 per player) – please advise by emailing stuartvogel8@gmail.com after entering – before 9:00 pm on 8th November 2024.

Entry Details:
- The entry fee is $70* for the Championship
- Please note that NZ players who participate in two or more NZCF-rated tournaments in a year are required to be a member of an NZCF Affiliate or Associate Chess Club. See www.newzealandchess.co.nz for further details on how to join a chess club.
- Foreign players must have a FIDE ID prior to entering. NZ players without a FIDE ID will be assigned one by FIDE (date of birth required).
