2025 Oceania Zonal 3.6 Chess Championships

The prestigious FIDE World Championship qualifying competitions (Open and Women’s) is open to players from Oceania Federations (Australia, Fiji, Guam, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Island, Tonga, Vanuatu).

Schedule: 24th January – 29th January, 2025

Tournaments:
Separate Open and Women’s Tournament.
9 round Swiss
Rate of Play: 90 min. / player / game plus 30 sec. per move from move one
Forfeiture time: 30 minutes from start of round.
Registration Fee (all players must pay this fee):
Open: $60 Women: $50
Entry Fee: (free for GM, WGM, IM, WIM)
Open: $130 Women: $120

Entry Requirements:
Players must be members of the participating federation and have a FIDE ID.
Due to the limitation of the venue, the rating requirement for AUS Open players (must be above FIDE 1900). AUS Players below this rating (email to Organiser) will be placed on a waitlist (in rating ranking) and may be allowed to enter based on entry numbers by placing your details via TryBooking. There is no rating requirement for Women entries.
Players from other federations must have a FIDE ID.

Accommodation: Player endorsed by the Federation (1 Open & 1 Woman) will receive accommodation (Twin Share basis). You must contact the Organiser – Peter Tsai chess@t-s-a-i.com before 31 December 2024 to receive the accommodation.
