Bledisloe Cup and Blackburn Cup 2024 The NZCF reintroduced these 2 competitions on a trial hybrid basis this year – the Bledisloe Cup for clubs from major centres (Auckland, Dunedin, Christchurch and Wellington) and the Blackburn Cup for all others. 4 clubs entered – Wellington Chess Club, Hawke’s Bay Chess

The 2024 New Zealand Women’s Chess Championships were held from 9-11 November at the Chinese Presbyterian Church in Auckland – hosted by the Auckland Central Chess Club. The Chief Organiser was Stuart Vogel, with IA Bruce Pollard as Chief Arbiter. Congratulations to Sarah Sun, our new NZ Women’s Chess Champion!
