NZL vs SGP Online Training Match – Applications for selection now open

The NZCF has arranged an online training match with the Singapore Chess Federation.

Dates: 28 & 29 June 2025 (Saturday and Sunday)
Time: 6pm (NZT) – both days
Platform: www.tornelo.com
Time Control: 90+30 (90 minutes + 30 second increment from move 1)

Teams of 50 players per country
Four boys and four girls from each of these age groups:

Under 8 (ie. player must not have turned 8 before 1 January 2025)
Under 10 (ie. player must not have turned 10 before 1 January 2025)
Under 12 (ie. player must not have turned 12 before 1 January 2025)
Under 14 (ie. player must not have turned 14 before 1 January 2025)
Under 16 (ie. player must not have turned 16 before 1 January 2025)

An Open team of 4 players
A Women’s team of 4 players
A Seniors (50+) team of 2 players (any gender)

Each player will play the same opponent on the Saturday and Sunday, but with colours reversed for the 2nd game.

New Zealand players may play their games from anywhere as the match is being held online, the Singapore players will be playing in a single venue.

There will be a strong emphasis on Fair Play. Any instances of cheating or obtaining outside assistance with games will be considered a serious breach of these rules and dealt with accordingly.

Full Match and Fair Play regulations will be sent to all players once teams and the finer details of the match have been finalised.
