Expressions of Interest – National Selectors

New Zealand has a panel of national selectors who, when needed, select national teams (for the Olympiads for example) and/or official representatives to international competitions.

The NZCF Council appoints the National Selectors, from those a convenor will be selected to head up the selection processes.

Selectors must be independent and impartial, and would ideally be strong chess players with international playing experience (though this is not strictly necessary).

If you are interested in being a national selector, please get in touch with the NZCF Secretary,  Richie Christie, admin@newzealandchess.co.nz by Thursday 15 May 2025

Please also indicate if you are willing to serve as convenor.

Also, feel free to contact Richie or NZCF President Craig Hall ( president@newzealandchess.co.nz ) if you would like to know more.
