Eligibility
Schools must qualify through their regional interschool competition or be granted a wild card entry (regional organisers can request these by emailing the interschool coordinator at craig.hall@newzealandchess.co.nz).
Teams are 4 players + optional reserve and do not have to be the same players or board order as played in the regional competition.
Teams should be in order of playing strength, which is usually in order of NZCF rapid rating (the Interschool Rules have more detail about this) where players have ratings (unrated players should be put in the right place e.g. if they are the best player in the team, they should be at board 1 regardless of being unrated). Reserves may play as the team sees fit - where the reserve plays in a given round, another player (any board number) is withdrawn, everyone else moves up and the reserve plays at board 4.
Teams need to be accompanied by at least one responsible adult who will be the team manager.
Entry fee is $90 per team - schools can choose to request an invoice or pay (details will be sent by automated email after an entry is made - where an invoice has been requested, payment is not due until after the invoice is issued in September). The entry fee for wild card entries is $120 and will be invoiced by NZCF directly.
Prizes
Medals and certificates for the winning teams and best performance for each individual board in each section. Certificates for the second and third-placed teams in each section.
