Chess Development Plan

Chess Development Plan

The Chess Development Plan (CDP) is a strategic plan for the development of chess in New Zealand, drafted initially by former NZCF President Nigel Metge and current NZCF Vice-President Paul Spiller in 2021. This draft was updated following a workshop at the 2022 NZ Chess Congress in Christchurch and was approved at the 2023 AGM.

It provides a framework to guide the NZCF Council and also sets targets which are reported on annually at the AGM (now as part of the Annual Report).

Input or comments from chess clubs and players is always welcome – this working document can be updated at any time.
