Bob Wade Memorial Masters 2026 – GM Michael Adams heads a top class field

Organiser Paul Spiller MNZM is delighted to announce the final field for the Bob Wade Memorial Masters (IM &  GM norm event), headlined by former world number 4 and 9-time British Champion, Michael Adams.

The 2026 Bob Wade Memorial Masters will take place at the Waipuna Hotel and Conference  Centre in Auckland from 15 to 21 January 2026 and will consist of five 10 -player Round Robin events in celebration of both Bob Wade and other New Zealand chess figures:

  • The Bob Wade Memorial Masters
  • The Hilton Bennett Memorial Masters
  • The Arthur Pomeroy Memorial Masters
  • The Peter Weir Memorial Masters
  • The Middle Game Chess Foundation Challengers
