2026 World Youth Chess Championships – Italy – selection process open
World Youth Chess Championships (U14, U16, U18) – Montesilvano, Italy – 14 to 27 June 2026
FIDE, the Italian Chess Federation and UniChess invite all national chess federations to participate in the World Youth Chess Championships 2026 in Montesilvano, Italy. The event will be held from June 14 (official day of arrival) to June 27, 2026 (official day of departure).
Every national federation is entitled to register one official player in each of the six categories: U14, U16, U18 (Open and Girls). This provides a total of six invited official players, plus one accredited accompanying official (Head of Delegation) with a valid FIDE ID.

The deadline for submitting this Online Form (to the NZCF) is 28 February 2026. As stated above there are 6 official places available (with free room and board) for NZL players – 1 Open and 1 Girl per age group U14, U16, U18. If there is more than 1 application for an official place then selections will be made by the NZCF. Plus one official place for an HOD.
