2026 Oceania Youth Chess Championships – Selections Open

The Canterbury Chess Club, on behalf of the New Zealand Chess Federation, Oceania Chess Confederation, and FIDE, invite players from all Oceania National Chess Federations and associated members to participate in the 2026 Oceania Youth Chess Championships to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand from the 9th to the 13th of April 2026.

There are 14 official  NZL places available (the entry fee of $140 will be waived for official players) – 1 Open and 1 Girl per age group U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 & U20. If there is more than 1 application for an official place then selections will be made by the NZCF. Registration fee of $90 is still payable.

Please complete this online form to apply for an official place – the deadline for submitting this form (to the NZCF) is Sunday 15 February 2026.

Please note that you do not have to  be an official player to play in this event and we encourage you to enter early. Should you enter, pay your entry fee, and then be selected as an official NZLplayer, your entry fee of $140 will be refunded by the organiser (as noted above, registration fee of $90 will still be payable).
